Since 2022 Whatcom County community members have successfully paused or canceled 3 legacy forest timber sales! Now we are trying to protect all legacy forests in the Lake Whatcom and Nooksack watersheds. There are a number of ways to get involved. We need more people who can give public comments at County Council meetings, write letters to the editor, and survey timber sales.

Advocate for a Statewide
Mature Forest Policy

The best way to protect forests in your county is statewide policy change!
Take just a moment and send a letter belo
w!

We need to ensure that the Commissioner of Public Lands, Hilary Franz, puts an end to logging the last remaining mature forests in western Washington.

Send a letter to the Commissioner of Public Lands and the Board of Natural Resources asking them to enact a moratorium on logging mature forests until a mature forest policy is adopted.
