The Center for Responsible Forestry:

Conserving Legacy Forests for
"All the People"

CRF's mission is to achieve the permanent protection of the last remaining legacy forests in Western Washington located on state public lands.

By working with impacted local communities, state policymakers, and in partnership with other conservation organizations, CRF works to accelerate the adoption of state forest policy and practices grounded in forest ecology.

Public Education

CRF aims to raise public awareness about the importance of these forests and the threats they face. Through community hikes led in legacy forests, educational seminars, bookclubs, advocacy events, digital campaigns, action newsletters, etc, CRF is dedicated to educating the public through a variety of engaging and community building ways.

Policy Advocacy

CRF advocates for policies and regulations on the state level that protects these legacy forests and the species that depend on them. This involves educating government officials, advocating for stronger environmental protections, collaborating on economic solutions with stakeholders and the legislature, and building coalitions with other organizations to achieve shared goals.

CRF provides strong technical assistance and organizing support to county governments, local conservation groups, Western WA tribes, and interested community stakeholders on the current mechanisms available to conserve legacy forests in their counties.
